The BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) have been actively engaged in discussions and initiatives related to the digital transformation of rural villages and agri-food systems. These events have focused on creating a blueprint for leveraging digital technologies to transform rural areas and enhance agricultural practices. During these events, key stakeholders from each country will discuss the importance of leveraging technologies such as artificial intelligence, Big Data, the Internet of Things, and cloud computing to improve agricultural productivity, enhance resource management, and promote sustainable farming practices. They will assess the need for digital infrastructure, connectivity, and capacity building in rural landscapes to ensure the successful implementation of digital village and smart agriculture initiatives. Furthermore, the BRICS countries will explore opportunities for collaboration in research and development, knowledge sharing, and capacity-building programs, which will result in the establishment of knowledge-sharing platforms, training programs, and exchanges of experts to facilitate the transfer of technology and expertise in the field of digital villages and smart agriculture. Overall, these events have served as platforms for the BRICS countries to collectively develop a blueprint for digital village and smart agriculture development. By sharing experiences, best practices, and resources, they aim to harness the potential of digital technologies to drive rural development, improve agricultural productivity, and enhance the livelihoods of rural communities.
